Plot Outline

Meggie is 12 years old, but knows nothing of her father's bizarre and powerful talent. But Meggie is aggravated that Mo still refuses to read to her. Capricorn, a man who burns for joy and being so evil that he would "feed a bird to a cat on idea, just to watch it creature torn apart", has searched for Meggie's father for years, seeking to twist Mo's powerful talent to his own dark means. Finally, Capricorn realizes that the finest way to lure Mo to his far-off mountain hideaway is to utilize his adored daughter Meggie as bait. While Meggie discovers Capricorn's pitiless plan, she too, can resolve people from pages and bring them to life, but it takes a while for her to realize her rule.
